Han Dynasty

Abstract
"After unlocking the secrets of the first emperor of China’s tomb in the October 1997 issue, we travel back to China this October to the Han Dynasty and the emperors who succeeded the first emperor. This was a time of great innovation, politically and culturally. You’ll meet Wu Di, who felt strongly about the merits of the civil service program; Wang Meng, who usurped the throne from the Han only to be overthrown by them; the Grand Empress Dowager LŸ and her controlling influence on the emperor; and Confucius, whose philosophy influenced the very life of the Chinese. Three main articles will focus on the arts, technological advances, and creative minds of the Chinese of this period. And, there’s a chance to become creative yourself as you follow the step-by-step instructions to make rice paper the Chinese way." (text taken from cobblestonepub.com)
