Using Gold Murders with high school students

ALL the Judge Dee stories are superb resources for any teacher wanting their students to understand the Tang Dynasty. I found that THE GOLD MURDERS was particularly effective with high school students in a Chinese history class. In addition to the mystery element, there are memorable roughneck characters, aides to Judge Dee, and the main objective is to appreciate how a civil service official functioned in Tang Dynasty China.
