Awaji Island Bridge in Japan

Japan is actually made up of four large islands, and with its majestic views of the seashore, there are noticeable adaptions to the landscape that allow for easier travel. The bridge to Awaji Island is considered to be the longest suspension bridge in the world. This bridge is near an earthquake area and is able to bend and give in case of an earthquake. The bridge is not surrounded by large cities as is the case in San Francisco, but there are small fishing villages and open space near this bridge, which exhibits Japan's adaptation of their landscape for the sake of growth, but while doing so to keep the heritage and livelihood of the areas surrounding it.
