Sesame Street - Big Bird in China
Synopsis |
This DVD provides a great way for kids to become acquainted to China. The footage of the mountains, temples, and other wildlife in this movie is breath-taking, plus cultural examples, such as the clip of the citizens doing Ta’i Chi.

I watched this movie with my 4 year old and 7 year old who are both adopted from China. Although the 7 year old is no longer impressed with Big Bird, she appreciated the fact that he was in China and talking about things that she knew about. The 4 year old was impressed with both Big Bird and the Great Wall. This film is good to watch with young children after you've talked about China a bit. When you watch it, you can point out things that have been discussed as all of the kid interesting things are covered. I would recommend using this in an exploratory Chinese program for young children.
