Synopsis |
Oriume tells the story of a suburban Aichi prefecture family coping with Alzheimer’s, from the point of housewife Tomoe, who is the primary caretaker of her aging mother-in-law, Masako. Based on the real-life journal of a housewife who had seen the director’s earlier film on the subject, Oriume chronicles the changes to the family as Masako must move in with her son as her illness progresses, while also discovering hidden artistic talents.
